Excellence in interventional cardiology: new high-technology hybrid suites for the Gaetano Martino University Hospital in Messina
Project status: Completed
Completion date: December 2022
Operamed has delivered the new hybrid interventional cardiology suites at the Gaetano Martino University Hospital in Messina, contributing to the transformation of the second floor of Pavilion E into a highly technological platform dedicated to the treatment of complex cardiovascular conditions.
The project integrated the TrueSpace modular prefabrication system, ensuring maximum construction quality, controlled environments, high sanitation standards, and operational continuity in high-complexity clinical settings.
The suites are equipped with latest-generation angiography systems and touchless large-format displays that can be operated in sterile conditions, enabling extended visual fields and supporting high-precision procedures. Each room also features an advanced digital video-routing system connected to the hospital’s RIS/PACS, allowing clinicians to view, manage, and store diagnostic imaging directly within the procedure area, ensuring continuous monitoring and real-time clinical decision-making.
The solution also includes streaming and visual communication systems to support clinical training and academic teaching, reinforcing the project’s focus on continuous education and medical-scientific innovation. The department is completed by a dedicated recovery room and a direct connection to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU), ensuring a seamless and timely patient care pathway.
A project that highlights Operamed’s commitment to supporting leading healthcare institutions in the development of advanced critical-care environments, where technology, engineered integration, and functional design work together to enhance patient safety and clinical efficiency.
