New intensive care spaces for Pineta Grande Hospital: technology, visibility, and continuous care

Type of construction: Terapia Intensiva
Project status: Completato
Completion date: Marzo 2023

Operamed has completed the new Intensive Care Unit at Pineta Grande Hospital in Castel Volturno, a leading private healthcare facility in Southern Italy. The project expands the hospital’s critical care capacity while introducing advanced clinical environments designed for patient safety, visibility, and operational efficiency.

The unit includes 18 intensive care beds in an open-space configuration, including 2 isolation rooms with dedicated anterooms. Central open-space nurse stations and custom technical work surfaces ensure continuous monitoring and efficient workflow across the department.

The project was developed using the TrueSpace modular prefabrication system, featuring galvanized steel panels with antibacterial PVC coating and custom graphic finishes to support comfort and environmental humanization.
The intervention covers an area of over 750 m², integrating all clinical and support spaces.

A distinctive feature of the project is the installation of 72 backlit 600×600 mm ceiling panels with a sky-effect graphic, designed to foster a calming and open visual environment for patients.
