The intervention led to the prefabricated construction of new operating rooms and ancillary support areas, integrated into the existing surgical block through a next-generation modular wall system.
\nEvery detail was designed to ensure safety and functionality. The operating rooms are lead-lined with 1 mm shielding on walls, equipment, and internal-facing doors, while surfaces feature painted steel finishes with antibacterial colaminated coating. Color-coded technical modules help distinguish electrical systems, medical gases, and air return points, making workflows more intuitive and organized.
\nTo create a welcoming environment, glazed modules for monitors and decorative panels with high-resolution digital prints were installed, contributing to the humanization of the spaces. The pre-painted steel ceiling, hermetically sealed and easily inspectable, ensures rapid installation and simplified maintenance.
\nIntegrated LED lighting, recessed into the ceiling fixtures, provides uniform and comfortable illumination. The operating rooms are completed with functional elements such as dirty utility pass-through tunnels with double interlocked windows, Scotch-Brite stainless steel instrument pass-throughs, and recessed clocks and timers, all designed to support daily clinical activities.
\nIn the ancillary areas\u2014including preparation, recovery, sub-sterilization, and surgeon scrub rooms\u2014gypsum board walls were clad in PVC and completed with bed head units, ensuring aesthetic and functional continuity with the main surgical areas.
