New surgical block and intensive care unit for the new Santa Maria degli Angeli hospital in Pordenone

Type of construction: Operating block
Project status: Completed
Completion date: October 2024

The new Santa Maria degli Angeli Hospital in Pordenone represents an important architectural and urban project, conceived to meet the evolving needs of a modern and growing community in an integrated way.

In this context, Operamed delivered a turnkey project of approximately 2,000 m², including the design and construction of the surgical block and the intensive care unit, with the full supply of technological systems developed according to the highest standards of efficiency, safety, and innovation.

The new complex includes 11 operating rooms, one of which is pre-equipped for hybrid use and enhanced with full-height wall graphics inspired by nature, and 15 intensive care beds featuring a dedicated control area, reporting room, and nurse preparation zone.
The project is completed by dedicated areas for recovery, scrub, control room, medication storage, equipment, and technologies, all designed with the same attention to functionality and seamless integration between architecture and systems.

The use of the TrueSpace modular prefabrication system made it possible to combine construction quality, design flexibility, and execution efficiency, while ensuring reliable and predictable timelines: five months for module production and installation, and nine months for full turnkey delivery, including the design and integration of all technological systems — one of the most complex aspects of the project, fully managed by the Operamed team to guarantee perfect coordination between architectural, plant, and engineering components.

A concrete example of how modular design in healthcare environments can ensure reliability, industrial scalability, and customization, while harmonizing with contemporary architecture and setting new standards for the hospitals of the future.
