Construction of operating rooms for a new pediatric hospital


Operamed delivered the construction of six new surgical areas for the New Veneto Pediatric Hospital “Salus Pueri” in Padua: a 20,000 m² facility that integrates care, research, and education within an environment specifically designed around the needs of young patients.

The New Veneto Pediatric Hospital “Salus Pueri” represents a strategic project for regional healthcare: a 20,000 m² facility that integrates care, research, and education within an environment specifically designed around the needs of young patients. The complex includes 155 beds, 26 specialized pediatric units, and six operating rooms, one of which is configured as a mini-hybrid suite.
Within this project, Operamed delivered the new surgical areas using the prefabricated modular TrueSpace system, which ensures construction quality, seamless integration of building services, and reliable execution timelines. The operating rooms were designed to meet high standards of hygiene, safety, and functionality, featuring advanced technical solutions fully integrated with the hospital’s infrastructure.
A distinctive element of the new pediatric hub is the Biophilic Design approach, which guided the entire aesthetic concept. Graphics, colors, and natural references present throughout the different floors are also reflected within the surgical areas, contributing to the humanization of spaces and creating an environment that is both reassuring and consistent with the overall project identity.
The result is a modern, safe surgical block aligned with the vision of the new hospital: highly functional spaces that integrate technology, design, and a strong focus on the well-being of both patients and staff.
