Construction of a new operating block


Construction of a new prefabricated operating block using the TrueSpace system, featuring Corian® walls and decorative glass, mixed finishes, and integrated technology.

A project that fully embodies the philosophy of modular prefabrication: at the Don Calabria Private Clinic in Verona, Operamed delivered a new operating block consisting of two operating rooms, a sub-sterilization area, preparation and recovery zones, and a patient waiting area.
For one of the most important healthcare centers in the province, the client chose to fully adopt our TrueSpace prefabrication system, which allows different types of finishes to be combined on the same self-supporting substructure. Each material was selected to deliver specific performance and ensure maximum operational efficiency.
The operating rooms were built with 12 mm DuPont™ Corian® walls, combined with 8 mm tempered glass panels. The glass, decorated with high-resolution digital prints, features a natural birch tree trunk pattern, a theme chosen to bring brightness and harmony to the entire operating block.
For the ancillary areas, a painted steel finish was adopted, supported by 18 mm gypsum board, providing a robust and easily maintainable solution.
Between the preparation area and the recovery zone, large glazed surfaces with LCD privacy technology were installed, allowing transparent sections to be quickly obscured and ensuring operational flexibility and privacy.
The result is a functional, refined, and coherent operating block, where design, hygiene, and construction innovation come together to create a modern and comfortable healthcare environment.
